Introduction:
5 min: While I take attendance I will ask the class to brainstorm some ideas as to how to design this procedure in their groups.
5 min: Each group will share their ideas on how to tackle this project, so everyone in the class will have somewhere to start.
Activities & Assignments:
5-10 min: I will briefly go over the background information and answer any questions the class may have on how to finish their task.
25-30 min: The students will be allowed to work in their groups and experiment with the lab materials to design their procedure. During this time I will circulate through the class room and help with any questions. I will be constantly checking each groups procedure to be sure they are on the right track.
Closure:
5 min: Near the end of the period I will check each groups procedure to see if it will actually be usable. Students will be reminded to dress appropriately for the lab tomorrow.
